Description:
TheSixSigmaWay (www.6sigmaway.com) Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Class is a three-day lean six sigma training and certification class. Students must complete the Brown Belt Training before starting this class. This highly interactive class consists of lectures, examples, case studies, exercises, demos and Q&As. The following topics will be discussed:

INTRODUCTION
- Six Sigma Introduction
- Introduction to Minitab
- Project Management
DEFINE - participants will be taught tools to identify and/or validate their improvement project, illustrate
their business processes, define customer requirements and prepare themselves to be an effective part of the project team. Modules include:
- Project Charter (Classroom Module)
- Pareto Analysis
- SIPOC
- Voice of the Customer (Classroom Module)
- Process Mapping
MEASURE - participants will learn and practice employing tools to determine critical measures necessary to satisfy customer requirements and develop a measurement plan to document process performance. Participants will learn the basics of variation and how to measure process sigma.
Modules include:
- What is Statistics?
- Organizing and Presenting Data
- Measures of Central Tendency
- Measures of Dispersion
- Descriptive Statistics: Self-Assessment
- Calculating Process Based Costs (COPQ)
- Validating the Measurement System
ANALYZE - participants will learn how to analyze the data to clearly understand and identify opportunity for improvement. Participants will learn how to determine the causes of variation as well as customer dissatisfaction. Participants will learn how to analyze the data to clearly understand and identify opportunity for improvement. Participants will learn how to determine the causes of variation as well as customer dissatisfaction. Modules Include:
- Scatter Diagram
- Cause & Effect Diagram
- Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Intro to Process Capability
- Process Capability Assessments
- An Introduction to Probability
- Probability Distributions: Discrete Random Variables

- Making Inferences about Proportions
- Hypothesis Tests for the Mean
- Comparing Means
- Inferential Statistics: Self-Assessment
- Simple Linear Regression
- Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)
IMPROVE - participants will learn how to identify root causes and create solutions to eliminate them. Participants will be introduced to various methods of solution identification, prioritization, and implementation and learn how to gain approval for the solution and plan for impacts the changes will have on the organization.
- Maximizing ROI (Solution Design Matrix, DOE)
CONTROL - participants will learn how to develop and utilize a control plan to ensure the sustained achievement of targeted results. Participants will discuss how to share lessons learned, identify standardization methodologies, and techniques to encourage continuous process improvement.
- Sustaining ROI (Control Plan, Intro to Control Charts)
- Types of Control Charts
- Extending Project ROI (Leverage)
