Moorhead, MN, August 28, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- Encryptomatic LLC today announced the general availability of version 1.8 of MessageLock™ email encryption, the easy to use email security solution add-in for Microsoft Outlook. MessageLock provides 1-click sender-to-receiver protection of email messages and attached email documents.
“People who do not protect their email often don’t understand how vulnerable email really is,” said Darren S. Leno, President, Encryptomatic llc. “MessageLock will appeal to Outlook users who value their privacy and the privacy of their clients, and who desire an inexpensive secure email solution that is easy to implement. If you’ve been waiting for email encryption to become simple, MessageLock is for you.”
MessageLock utilizes strong Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption (user selectable 256 or 128 bit) to protect email as it transits the internet. MessageLock’s seamless process allows the sender and receiver to communicate without modifying their behavior. Encryption and compression may be easily toggled on or off on a per-message basis. MessageLock’s default settings can be configured in a variety of flexible ways. For example, file compression may be disabled for certain domains or specific email addresses, by file size, or by specific file type.
MessageLock installs in just moments as a Microsoft Outlook add-in. The user types an email address, and presses the “Encrypt Message” button on the toolbar, and enters a password. MessageLock securely stores the password for future use. The email message is encrypted on the sender’s PC, and decryption occurs on the receiver’s PC. This means that the message is secured the moment it leaves the sender’s PC, until it is decrypted on the receiver’s PC.
Although maximum convenience occurs when both sender and receiver are using MessageLock, its encrypted files are widely accessible. Encrypted email file attachments can be opened up by any receiver who knows the password and who has a zip file utility installed on their computer. Encrypted email messages can be viewed by any Outlook user who has an encryption-enabled Zip file utility. Senders have the option to send protected emails as a “self decrypting” file.
MessageLock is free to try. A fully functional trial may be downloaded from www.encryptomatic.com. It is also available at quality shareware websites, such as Download.com. The retail cost is just $39.99 for business users, and just $19.99 for home users.
