Action Incorporated Sponsors Inner-City Children at Sacred Heart University Baseball Camp

Tarrytown, NY, February 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Rich Del Cervo, the owner of Action Inc., is an alumnus of Sacred Heart University. In the past, from 2002 until 2006, he helped run the clinic as an active pioneer. Since opening his company, he was unable to permanently stay involved in the teaching and developing of today’s youth, out on the baseball field. Therefore, Mr. DelCervo felt it would be a great experience to team up with fellow SHU alumni, and sponsor several inner-city children, who were unable to afford attending the camp. Helping lead the effort, was his fellow team-mate, Curtis Lewsey, who initially contacted him with the idea of creating such a program. When speaking with Mr. Lewsey he had this to say: “Rich and I happen to be in a situation where we can now give back to the community on a larger, yet indirect scale. We look forward to continuing to develop new ways to raise funds for inner-city children to attend these upscale sports camps.” There were also many other Sacred Heart Alumni who donated to the cause.

Mr. Del Cervo said, “I think that it is so important that less fortunate children are able to attend sporting camps, because it can help develop some truly premiere athletes who would normally not be able to attend the camp. When training, I remember seeing several children playing ball at the local parks in Bridgeport – many of which had pure, raw talent. If we can now help take some of those same children and develop them properly, we may be able to give them more than an experience, but the skills necessary to earn a potential scholarship and more.” The team at Action Inc., within this year’s endeavors, plans to also take on more and more socially responsible activities. These include interaction with habitat for humanity, Haiti relief efforts and funding, and also more fundraisers for inner-city youth. If you look at the website, http://innercityplayers.org/, you can see other athletes who are giving back to their communities, much like the efforts of Rich and his team at Action Inc.
