Robert Englund Headlines Spooky Empire’s List of Celebrity Guests for 2010 Horror Weekend

Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend has announced their first round of celebrity guests. This year’s line-up will include Robert Englund, Gary Busey, Jake Busey, Danny Trejo, Tom Savini, and more.

Orlando, FL, May 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Celebrity guests have been a key attraction of Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend since the horror convention began eight years ago. Today, the first guests have been announced. It’s a mix of celebrities who are all familiar faces to horror movie fans. Some are making their first appearance at Spooky Empire; others are returning for their second or even third time.

This year the original 1984 “A Nightmare on Elm Street” takes center stage with Robert Englund, AKA Freddy Krueger, making his second appearance at Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend. Joining Englund are several other cast members of A Nightmare on Elm Street: Heather Langenkamp, Amanda Wyss, and John Saxon.

A Nightmare on Elm Street will not be the only classic horror franchise represented this year. Betsy Palmer, better known to fans as Mrs. Voorhees, and Adrienne King of the original Friday the 13th will be in appearance.

A famous father and son team will also be in attendance this year. Actor Jake Busey will return to Spooky Empire for his second year, and this year will be accompanied by his Academy Award Nominee father Gary Busey. Both Busey's have been in multiple film and television projects in and out of the horror genre throughout the years.

The final pair of the celebrity guests announced are actors Tom Savini and Danny Trejo, stars of the upcoming Robert Rodriguez film Machete. This will be Trejo’s first Spooky Empire appearance and Savini’s third. Savini is also an accomplished make-up artist and will be holding a panel on stage make-up.

Previous years’ celebrity guests have included Malcolm McDowell, Shannen Doherty, Linda Blair, David Arquette, Elvira, Sid Haig, Corey Haim, and many more.

In addition to the celebrity guests, Spooky Empire will be filled with many other activities for all ages. There will be live music, tattoo artists, creepy classic car shows, a celebrity charity poker tournament, pool parties, film festivals and much more.

Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend will be held from Friday, October 8th to Sunday, October 10th at the Wydham Orlando Resort located on International Drive. The convention is in its 8th year and is the largest horror themed convention in the south-eastern United States.
