)-- EurekaUrgent Care is proud to be the lead sponsor for the first annual Archimedes 5k Family Fun Run with proceeds to benefit the Eureka Parks and Recreation on May 15, 2011, at 8:30am in Kircher Park, Eureka, MO. Online registration is available through Fleet Feet and a registration booth will be set up at 7a.m on the race day. Two hundred men, women and children are anticipated to participate.
The Archimedes Run; aptly named after the Greek mathematician and scientist who discovered the measurement principal of volume while in his bathtub and took to the streets crying "Eureka,” so excited by his discovery that he had forgotten to dress.
The fun run will be a family event with:
Toga costume contest
Toga Optional 5K Fun Run/Walk
100 Yard Dash with prizes
Balloon Twisting activities for the children from “All About You Parties”
The cost to participate in the race is $15 race before May 1, 2011, $20 entry for registrations after May 1, 2011, $25 entry for the day of race registration. Runners who pre-register will receive a souvenir t-shirt, and tote bag filled with sponsor donated treats and giveaways.
On-line registration is available by visiting www.archimedesrun.com or buying them onsite in Kircher Park the day of the race. Awards will be given for 1st-3rd place racers and top male and female toga costumes Eureka Schnucks and Sams Club will provide refreshments to participants.
