Charlotte, NC, May 20, 2011 --(PR.com
)-- Packard Place will house its first tenant in its newly developed co-working space.mailVU
, an innovative video messaging service startup, will become the facility’s inaugural tenant.
Developed as “community center for entrepreneurs,” Packard Place opened its doors in March with a launch event attended by more than 300 people from the entrepreneurial, civic and university communities. The 90,000 square foot office building is intended to house entrepreneurial ventures ranging from startups to further established companies.
“Packard Place is all about community; it’s about making a place where entrepreneurs feel at home, and know this is their space in Charlotte,” said Dan Roselli, Co-Founder of Packard Place.
“From our many conversations within in the community, we learned that there is a need for this kind of environment, and we’re thrilled to be facilitating the connection among the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our region.”
Founded by Alan Fitzpatrick and Addy Kapur, mailVU has quickly evolved in response to customer use and feedback, after beginning development less than a year ago. mailVU’s platform aims to make it simple to create, send, and manage video emails which individuals and companies may leverage for impactful business marketing and CRM initiatives.
In April, mailVU earned the Grand Prize and People’s Choice award at UNCC’s Five Ventures Annual Business Innovation Competition.
“Packard Place is quickly establishing itself as a hub for entrepreneurs, and we are excited to be one of the first local start-up companies to participate," Fitzpatrick said. “Charlotte has a strong entrepreneurial community and we want to be part of growing that nucleus.”
Packard Place expects to fill its available space with more entrepreneurial tenants by the end of this year.
