Tour the World Through Wine Tasting with Sommelier Dieter Schafer at South Seattle Community College

Seattle, WA, August 01, 2007 --( Tour through 16 regions and taste wine from 16 grape varieties with Certified Educator and Sommelier Dieter Schafer from as your guide. Classes include "A Crush Course in Effective Wine Tasting," lots of wine vocabulary to help you describe what you see and smell and taste, a bit of history and geography of the regions, best wine-buying strategies, wine-and-food pairing guidelines, correct serving techniques and temperature, and hints for proper storing and aging.

The 16 wines tasted: Orange Muscat from Yakima Valley, Gewurztraminer from Alsace, Melon from Loire Valley, Malbec from Mendoza, Riesling from Mosel, Albarino from Rias Baixas, Tempranillo from Rioja, Xynomavro from Greece, Gruner Veltliner from Austria, Pinot Grigio from Friuli, Sangiovese from Tuscany, Pinotage from Cape Province, Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, Carmenere from Chile, Gamay from Beaujolais, and Champagne from Champagne.
