North York, Canada, April 24, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- Canadian web hosting service YesUpHost today announced it has a dedicated server for virtual private networks (VPN).
“We are seeing an increasing need, and more requests for VPN,” said YesUpHost Director Patrick Zeng. “Because many companies have offices in different geographic locations, they need a secure and immediate way to communicate between offices.”
YesUpHost is recommending an Intel Xeon E3-1230V2 for the server, but other configurations are available. The XEON runs 8 GB DDR3 with a 500 gig HD and 10,000 GB of bandwidth. Uplink speeds are 100 Mb/s.
“We will work with you to make sure your needs and requirements are being met,” Mr. Zeng said. “Some companies may need more, some may need less. If you are not sure what you need, give us an idea of what kind of network traffic you have now, what you need on the VPN and we can make recommendations.”
Many companies are moving to VPNs because it reduces the amount of paper used in daily business. It’s also faster and allows documents to be shared across the company with ease.
“While telephone and email are fine for some communications, there are some matters that can’t easily be shared this way. A company policy manual, is a good example. By posting this manual to the VPN, all employees can access the information immediately and the company saves money by not printing the manual for each employee,” Mr. Zeng said.
The VPN can also be made extremely secure. The server allows passwords, biometrics, two-factor authentication and other cryptographic methods, depending on the security needs of the company. Mr. Zeng said the dedicated server allows easy configuration of OpenVPN or StrongVPN.
“Whatever your VPN needs are, we can meet them. We just need to know what you expect,” he said. “Give us a call and let us help set up the network you need.”
