Italian Singer/Songwriter Joins Worldview Coalition

Award winning artist, Roberto Bignoli, speaks out against child poverty

Kitchener, Ont, Canada, August 29, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Milan's Roberto Bignoli is the latest in a series of artists to lend his support to the Worldview coalition of child sponsorship organizations. Bignoli joins fifteen other international musicians who have contributed music videos to the new website worldview.ca. As with all of the Worldview artists, Bignoli recorded a videotaped message about child sponsorship, but his message is slightly different. According to site creator Stephen Jarnick, “Roberto only speaks a little English, and I don't speak Italian at all, so most of our communication was through his wife. Everything else on the site is in English, but we thought that Roberto should do his endorsement in Italian. I guess it was the right decision because people really love it.” Jarnick adds, “We're extremely fortunate to have Roberto's participation in this project.” The video featured on Worldview is “Concerto a Sarajevo,” a very moving live performance shot in Torun, Poland.

Although Bignoli has been a musician since he was a child, a very strong faith experience later in life moved him to become a professional singer/songwriter with a focus on songs with social and religious themes. In 2001 and 2005, Bignoli received Unity Awards from UCMVA (United Catholic Music and Video Association) for “International Artist of the Year” and “International Song of the Year.” In 2003 he was presented with the “Golden Graal” at Villa Borghese, in Rome, as a Christian artist working for social justice.
