Terrell, TX, February 25, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- As personal injury lawyers, the Law Office of Houston M. Smith, P.C., sees all too often the dangers associated with distracted driving and drunk driving. Unfortunately, those dangers increase for teen drivers during prom season. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration research shows that drivers aged 16-19 are more likely to be involved in a fatal collision due to distracted driving than the drivers aged 20 and older. Research conducted by AAA shows that the chances of a fatal car crash increase when there is more than one teenager in the car because of the increased distractions. Teenagers get all dolled up for prom and want to show the world, which means selfies, texting and primping. Unfortunately, those actions occur even while driving. Although teenagers are not supposed to drink because under the age of 21, research shows that drinking and driving is prevalent amongst teens during prom season, which increases the risk of a traffic collision. The law firm wants to encourage safe driving habits for prom and all year long so the roads can be as safe as possible for local teens. The Law Office of Houston M. Smith's goal is to heighten awareness of these issues, so the firm is sponsoring a Drive Safe Prom Public Safety Announcement Video Contest, which is open to the students of the local Kaufman County high school community.
The Law Offices of Houston M. Smith invites all Kaufman County high school junior and senior students to participate. Just submit a Public Safety Announcement video about the dangers associated with teen driving during the prom season.
Please make sure your groups consist of 10 students or less. Help the firm spread awareness of the increased risk of teen traffic collisions during prom. The Law Offices of Houston M.
