Detroit, MI, June 27, 2017 --(PR.com
)-- On Ashley Sword's desk at The Asher PR Group is an action figure of Supergirl. No prop could be more symbolically appropriate for the surging Stellar Scholars, a non-profit collective of career professionals sponsoring creative commissions of student and retired alike from love stories to hybrid athletics of their own invention. As Creative Director of the "Scholars," Ashley oversees it all while finding time to "star" in two of the most popular love stories of the 200-plus available free for gift-linking to readers' loved ones - to the tune of 213,000 story reads. (The Stellar Romance site itself was only launched in April of 2016.)
Jennifer Watters is Editorial Director of the group's book line, Stellar Novellas, which already boasts seven original titles in its inaugural year from love story anthologies like "I Adore You But I Cannot Marry You" to "Cara Mia," a tale of obsessional love set in turbulent 1968 which John Oakes, Chief of The New York Times Editorial page from 1951 to 1976, praised as "A sexy, excellently written mystery...paints a haunting picture of a femme fatale." Maureen Egen, iconic former Editor-in-Chief of Warner Books (" Bridges of Madison County") called its author Michael Cornell "a very talented writer."
Victoria Rhodes, 2009 Amanda Cornell Stellar Scholars Aurora Awards Summa Cum Laude Champion in Creative Writing, founded the highly-visited StellarMuse literary e-magazine out of Cornell University, showcasing emerging writers' short fiction as well as aspiring first novels.
Authors include Darlene House, former President of the Detroit Woman Writers and previously a recipient herself of its prestigious Woman Writer of the Year, Darlene co-authored the inspirational "Never Lose" about the longest surviving Harlem Globetrotter who survived hard-court stardom and hard-scrabble drug addiction to perform nearly a half-century of dedicated community service on behalf of inner-city youth.
Kelsey King, author and illustrator, has co-authored six Stellar Novellas, including her first, "Star High Chronicles 1" for home- and gifted-school publisher Royal Fireworks Press before she turned eighteen years old. (The eagerly anticipated "Star High IV" debuts in July.) Kelsey was recently signed to a contract by mega New York literary agency Inkwell Management who represent, among many literary luminaries, the estate of Colleen McCollough of The Thornbirds international acclaim. Kelsey, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, even models her own custom-designed gowns which sell for as much as $1,400 a copy over her Facebook site.
Creative Director Sword, who organized and sponsors the upcoming 2017 Bettie Page Wild Golf Invitation charity event for breast cancer survivors, puts Stellar Scholars prowess in creative matters female this way: "The fact that women's voices and imaginative powers play such a vital and vibrant role in the Scholars' success should surprise no one. Creative talent is, and never was, gender-specific. Just look around here at our impressive body of artistic achievement to prove it to yourself."
