Raleigh, NC, March 24, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- Freelance writer and Raleigh native, Debbie Panell is at it again.
"I saw a need that really wasn't being fulfilled. I looked and looked, and could not find a message board that was Only about the Raleigh area, but also allowed off topic conversations. A message board not laden with rules and power tripping site owners..."
So, on the morning of March 20th, she sat down with one goal in mind. To make the message board that the Raleigh area was missing.
"We have lots of people moving here - but the reality is, that this area is not for everyone. How else are they going to learn what an area is like (aside from visiting) other than by asking the people that live there?"
Raleigh Info (http://raleighinfo.myfreeforum.org/index.php) is a message board community that allows locals, transplants and those thinking of relocating to the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, NC) to discuss issues in the area, neighborhoods, jobs, culture - even pets.
"Off topic conversations are vital in forming a community. We need to encourage our members to become friends. North Carolina is a friendly place. We need a message board that emphasizes this..."
Having just started, the board is of course small. Debbie is actively marketing her site to get the word out.
"As the site grows, I can add features, sub-forums, and maybe do my own hosting if it gets large enough. I want members from all walks of life - from SAHM to Real Estate agents to IT professionals and construction workers. I want a wide array of knowledge and experiences and professions in the Triangle area. Everyone in this area has something to share and teach others. They just need a place to do it."
The website, http://raleighinfo.myfreeforum.org/index.php is online now.
