(THSOC) of Collin County, Texas has established a unique spine and orthopedic referral program that helps patients who are looking for spine and orthopedic services and pairs them with a patient navigator to provide them with a knowledgeable, dedicated person to assist them throughout their entire episode of care.
The Patient Navigator program was recently featured in Frisco STYLE Magazine highlighting this special customer service driven program that works to connect patients with physicians participating in the referral line to offer individualized care. Because navigating a healthcare need can be a very complicated ordeal, the THSOC program works by pairing patients with a skilled customer service specialist who can help them navigate every step of their treatment process from scheduling to follow-up care, including support with treatment programs, questions on insurance coverage, and coordination of care between multiple offices.
With an ever-growing population in Collin County, Larry Robertson, President of Texas Health Center for Diagnostics and Surgery says, “Sometimes, patients are not familiar with the providers or the area... or even insurance coverage. THSOC can help with all that. It is a unique service that helps guide the patient to the member doctor most appropriate for their specific needs.”
“The beauty of navigation is that patients are guided by someone who is knowledgeable and skilled at trying to find the right doctor for the right condition,” said Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano President, Josh Floren.
“It does not end there! Not only does it help get patients to the right doctor, but that navigator becomes a resource for the patient as they walk through the care continuum, so they are in the right place for the right type of care.”
The program differs from others in its ability to coordinate medical care between multiple spine and orthopedic specialists. This helps patients understand their treatment plan and streamlines communication between providers and patients. Additionally, the program helps patients have a supportive experience with a skilled Patient Navigator they can trust.
