Michael Colvin
General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer
Mr. Colvin serves as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Highland Capital Management, L. P. Previous to joining Highland Capital in June 2007, Mr. Colvin worked as a Shareholder in the Corporate and Securities Group at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. (the eighth largest law firm in the U.S. according to the National Law Journal)
While working at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Mr. Michael Colvin held responsibility for corporate practices, emphasis for acquisitions and mergers, private equity investments, financings and restructure as well as corporate counseling.
Before his work with Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Michael Colvin served as a Partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, beginning in 1995.
Mr. Michael Colvin earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance, graduating summa cum laude, from Western Kentucky University.
Mr. Colvin earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Mr. Colvin’s several distinguished and professional certifications are inclusive of membership in the New York State and Texas Bar Associations.
