Duns Castle in Scotland
Client since 2005Duns Castle is perfect as a secluded and romantic location for a wedding and we welcome parties of all sizes from just a couple looking for a quiet wedding to large parties that might wish for a marquee to use alongside the castle itself. If your party is less than sixty guests every part of your wedding day can be comfortably managed within the castle. Our rates are on a sliding scale based on numbers in your party: a midweek low season wedding for six with full exclusive use of the castle, wedding ceremony, dinner, accommodation, flowers, wine and bar drinks can cost under £2,000.
Whilst Duns Castle is a private home that is offered to you for your exclusive use and you will be looked after by our household staff, we do hold a full hotel licence, fire certificate and licence for civil wedding ceremonies. As well as being able to offer civil weddings in the stunning setting of the vaulted ceiling drawing room whose bay window overlooks the lawns to the lake, the local Church of Scotland and Episcopal ministers are also happy to conduct religious ceremonies at the castle.
Duns Castle is situated in Berwickshire in the eastern Scottish Borders; Edinburgh is just one hour to the north, the Cheviot Hills of England can be seen to the south from the castle and the east coast with its dramatic coastline of cliffs, sandy coves and quiet fishing villages is close by.
