Biography

LATASHIA DEVEAUX

As a successful entrepreneur with over eight years of agency, publicity, consulting, and legal affairs experience, Latashia DeVeaux has competently delivered ongoing consulting and public relations to client fields such as corporate arenas; the arts; special events; personalities; and the entertainment industry, including music, television and film production.

Currently helming operations at the Los Angeles based DeVeaux Agency; a division of DeVeauxted Enterprises, LLC, DeVeaux oversees an ever-expanding list of clients. She is responsible for securing sponsorship, financial and business transactions and media outreach and publicity logistics for the agency’s television, theater and home video clients.

In addition to working as a Senior Publicist and Consultant for a well-known PR firm, DeVeaux honed her craft by providing personal and executive assistance to celebrities, television and film producers and real estate executives. In addition, she provided public relations and consulting for private and non-profit companies. As such, she oversaw an assortment of clients which included: rap artists CJ Mac and WC of Westside Connection, Guys Personnel Services, independent production houses Unda Dog Records & Films, Inc. and Urban Life Pictures, and the documentary film project “C-Walk: It’s A Way of Livin’. These early years proved to test the experience and initiative required to parlay DeVeaux’s achievements toward the next level on her path to success.

In 1998, DeVeaux served as an Account Coordinator at The Hayley Sumner Company, an upscale boutique public relations firm in Beverly Hills, CA. Throughout her tenure there, she generated publicity and promotions for three rising artists and executives. Additionally, DeVeaux oversaw two outside PR agencies, which helped raise visibility and expand the vitality and image of the firm.

Other areas of interest to note of DeVeaux’s career are two years at Mind Your Music where she served as Assistant Music Supervisor and Coordinator on two feature film soundtracks for Walt Disney’s Holes and Sony Picture’s Laurel Canyon. She also provided extensive research and publicity for the book launch of Hip Kid Hop, rap-a-long children’s book series encouraging and teaching children how to read and rap, where she enlisted the participation of rap artists: LL Cool J, Missy Elliot, Shaggy, and Doug E. Fresh. What’s more, DeVeaux was employed by one of the foremost public relations firm in the entertainment industry, Rogers & Cowan Public Relations and provided freelance publicity work to Black Entertainment Television.

As a personal testament to the character of DeVeaux, she has a standing record of intricate involvement with several charities and community based organizations. DeVeaux’s passion is reflected by her deep commitment to building and restoring local communities and supporting women in the workplace. Among her affiliations and Board of Directors participations are Step Up Women’s Network; Break The Cycle, Tyra Banks’ T-Zone, National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), Women In Film, Public Relations Society of America, The Publicists Guild, Entertainment Professional Publicists Society, NAACP, and Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. DeVeaux is also an avid volunteer with numerous organizations involving underprivileged children, foster care, teens, literacy, and AIDS.

Latashia holds two Bachelors of Art degrees in Political Science and African-American Studies from California State University, Northridge and a Masters of Arts in Communication Management with an Emphasis in Marketing and Economics from the University California, Los Angeles. She is currently pursuing her PhD/JD in Public Policy and Law at the University of Southern California.
