Biography

John Mattaboni

Director of Customer Satisfaction, Level II Technician

John has enjoyed a love of technology and into being accepted to Carnegie Mellon University on a full scholarship for Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. After graduation, John was hired to write computer code for a product suite focused on the service industry and was the lead programmer within a year. Once the product was finished, John went on to be the Director of Software Support for a number of years.

After a successful tenure at Rand Systems, John was invited to be part of a five-man team chosen to design, build and implement that new emergency communications network for the New York City subway system, a $20 million plus contract.

To maintain three million daily riders moving reliably, this computer-based network had to keep the subway operations managers communicating with thousands of field agents, day-in day-out, 24/7/365. Not an easy task in the age of DOS and Novell. Ten minutes of downtime would be an emergency. An hour could get the mayor’s attention.

After the towers fell in NYC on 9-11, the system’s recorded communications helped federal agencies piece together some of the mayhem going on below ground on that fateful morning. Not long after, John moved his family to the pastoral beauty of the Lehigh Valley and founded Valley Networks, Inc.

John knows what it is to be responsible for mission-critical systems. And he imbues that same sense of accountability to every employee, practice and project with Valley Networks.

John has been the Chairman of the Lehigh Valley Chamber's Techfest Technology Committee and organized their annual conference. He has written for multiple technology venues and appears from time to time on local television newscasts to talk about technology issues of the day.
