Todays Woman Writing Community

I was recently invited to Today's Woman and have found it to be an excellent place for aspiring writers of all experience levels. Where many writers' groups feel remote and less than friendly to those just taking the first steps of their writing journeys, Today's Woman welcomes newcomers with warmth and sincerity.

The Today's Woman website offers articles, poems, and short stories written by both experienced and novice writers as well as forums filled with information that is easily accessible and often invaluable to beginning writers.

Kudos to this site and its founders.

I discovered Todays'Woman quite by accident. I was a member of a writer's site that was to put it bluntly, "filled with writers who were full of themselves". While on this site, I saw Rose's article about Todays-Woman, and became interested, and joined Todays-Woman as a contributing author and poet.

What impresses me the most is the personal interest Rose takes in each writer. I have really enjoyed reading many of the stories and poems, and I really believe the positive atmosphere of Todays-Woman is an encouragement to us writers. I have recommended her site to others, and they were also impressed.

The comments and encouraging words I have received from other writers made me want to write more.

I have been a member of Todays Woman since December 2004. My confidence has grown by leaps and bounds since joining. It is so much fun to read poetry from other talented people, and I also get excellent feedback on my poetry. There is a wonderful sense of belonging and comrodery with the other people there, as well as from the administrators and staff. This website is extremely well structured and well organized. I have recently joined this wonderful community and found it so interesting. I happened upon this web site "Todays Woman" quite by chance. I was having difficulty getting information about a poetry contest that I had entered. I was amazed at how quickly my cause was taken up by the site administrator Rose DesRochers, and how adamantly she pursued my problem. The problem was resolved in a very short time thanks to her efforts. The most remarkable thing about this, was the fact that I was a total stranger. I realized at once that I had found something indeed rare and extraordinary. I have since become a member and love every minute I spend at "Todays Woman". In the past, I frequented poetry chat rooms, but found them to be lacking in many ways. Here at "Todays Woman", I feel a warmth and friendliness that is truly overwhelming. Everything about this site is absolutely great . The people, the forums, the stories. the poetry. I could go on and on espousing accolades, but take a few minutes to find out for yourself. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

When I first got the invite to check out Todays Woman,I thought,Hey! I am a Dude! as I surfed through the pages of poetry I realized,What a cool sight. I have visited other poetry sights but this one is by far,the best sight to post your works and have honest feedback . I too have found many friends in the short time I have been here. As a musician and lyricist this is a great way to have your poems reviewed. If you love reading and writing poems,short stories, then this is the place for you.

when I was ask to join this site, many Moons ago. Never did I realize the extraordinary talent of so many people. Writing, has been my life, along with the time I spend reading to children with learning disabilities. This site is not only fabulous, the work that has gone into building it speaks for itself.

Today’s Woman is dynamic. So many types of writing’s are posted. The site provides personal profile pictures, and each poets work. The Poets themselves, read and vote on work posted, while at the same time building friendships. Believe me, I know the devotion of all the Staff and Writer’s here. For those that have no knowledge, recently I had to leave Today’s Woman, due to my illness. I was diagnosed Cancer.

Needless to say, after the surgery, I was left temporarily blind. Having to face another surgery after Christmas. My husband, Punk is no Writer. He has been here for me with encouragement. In his words, I might have loss of sight. Never a lost of passion for Writing. Rose, the Administrator, also a dear friend. No words could express this Woman, and the respect I have for both her and Shawn. You would have thought, I would have been forgotten.

Quite the opposite. Rose has helped my husband in encouraging me to continue to write escaping my temporary disability. Rose, has been an inspiration in helping to keep my work posted. The Writer’s, so talented, continue to support my work. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each and every one of you. My husband, reads to me new work posted, every chance he gets. I still voice my personal comment and vote. In my darkest hour, the friends I’ve come to know here at Today’s Woman will never be forgotten.

Though my husband eyes are mine for this moment, and the typist of my voice, each and every chance I’m able, I look forward to listening to him read myself your work. Today’s Woman has given me such respect, and consideration. I feel, more than I ever deserve. After my surgery, I received flowers from Today’s Woman. A tear still lingers inside my heart of that day. There are still card’s sent to be from other Poet’s, I’ve yet to answer. This one, I told my husband, I intend on doing myself personally when my sight returns. If anyone out there wants to view Poetry at its best, drop by Today’s Woman. See what is happening, and meet people that will stay with you for a lifetime.

I have been here since Rose invited me back in 2003 and I have loved it here ever since I joined. I started out as a member reading wonderful pieces of poetry and stories and was upgraded to a moderator. I was then able to become a staff admin and have been very honored to be part of the staff. I love this site so much and have never been part of a more friendly and helpful community, so thanks to Rose and Shawn for letting me be part of this site. They are both really wonderful people whom I'm honored to be friends with and also the other staff members they're very nice too and to all the other members here whose work I have been able to read and who have so graciously read my work:) Todays-Woman is the best and I'm proud to be here.

I submit my work to many sites with various degrees of success. Some sites are low tech and you have a hard time finding your own articles. Some article sites you never receive a response to any questions you have. With Todays-Woman, you receive personal interaction with the site owner and staff along with the ability to back it up with technology to provide a great service for the author. Keep up the good work.

I stumbled across the Today’s Woman website about two years ago and have been going back ever since. I found the site to be professional, ambitious, and down to earth. The three most important factors I believe most poets look for in a poetry site. The members of Today’s Woman have always been friendly, helpful, and gracious in their inter-actions. Rose DesRochers and her husband Shawn who manage and run the site give 110% to the site and the members on a 24/7 basis. I've been a member of Today's Woman for almost a year now and have nothing but admiration, love and respect for its administrators and membership. The genuine honesty and caring within the community is infectious. I believe this is the main reason that everything works. I find Today's Woman Writing Community is a great place to take off my shoes, sit back and relax. Whether ones looking for great short stories or excellent poetry by the many talented authors on the site to posting and reading outstanding articles by a multi-talented group of professionals there are few sites out there that compare. At times I find myself so absorbed in the many areas that the site offers I lose all track of time. You might say that's quite an accomplishment in itself. I've a very limited attention span. I know that ranting and raving about how great the community is won't help convince anyone but the experience of seeing for oneself will.
