
  The DVD World Company started as just DVD World in 1997 as an information site. In 1998 the site was changed into an online retail store and named DVD World Online. The DVD World Online site became highly popular due to it's pricing structure of charging no more than 30% off SRP for every title carried. In 2000 the name of the company was changed from just DVD World to The DVD World Company since DVD World no longer covered the many new areas company was now involved in. Those new areas included Distribution & Retail of both Movies & Video Games, Web Site Design, Web Hosting & Live Event Recording, Replication & Distribution Services. In 2001 The DVD World Company purchased DVD Destination, a competing DVD retailer. The entire inventory & web sites of DVD Destination were merged into The DVD World Company. The DVD Destination name in any form is now a registered trademark of The DVD World Company as well. In 2002 DVD World Pictures Corp. was formed as the first corporate division of The DVD World Company. It's purpose is to allow The DVD World Company to expand it's business into Motion Picture Production & Distribution fields. So far over 70 scripts & film rights are owned by DVD World Pictures Corp. In 2004, DVD World Company Founder & CEO Eddie Papetti was awarded Businessman Of The Year by the NRCC for New York. He continued to win the award in 2005 & 2006 as well. Along with also being award the Ronald Reagan Gold Medal for Business Ethics as well. Today The DVD World Company has the largest in stock inventory of movies on DVD, HD-DVD & Blu-Ray formats of any company in the world. It also ranks as one of the largest online DVD retailers in the world. With it's ever expanding business divisions The DVD World Company is poised to become one of the largest entertainment companies in the world within the next few years. The DVD World name & logo are either Trademarks or Registered Trademarks of DVD World Pictures Corp., a division of The DVD World Company
