CNN (and several other news agencies) have investigated the problem that Ford has been reluctant to respond to. Ford finally issued a recall on 3.2 million vehicles, but CNN found many millions more have the same switch and wiring issue, and are therefore, a potential hazard that is not being addressed.
Now, there is a solution! I don't want to panic anyone; CNN already did a fine job at that. While the chance of one of these vehicles catching fire is really not all that great, it is a possibility that grows with the age of the vehicle, and has happened many times out of something like 36 million vehicles that have these switches.
