J.H. Mattern Communications was started in August 2004 to provide music publicity services to independent musicians in Southeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. The business is solely owned and operated by Jennifer Mattern, from her home in Pottstown, PA.
The business has since expanded to provide writing, editing, and PR services to musicians, freelance and creative writers, and small businesses. The owner has, in addition, developed several independent projects through the company, including AudioXposure.com, an independent music webzine launched in January 2005, and The Indie Files, an independent music blog. Jennifer has served as an independent contractor managing several websites in a writer and/or editor capacity.
