Fort Worth, TX, July 21, 2009 --(
PR.com)-- Concrete floors are becoming more and more popular in all types of facilities—from offices. industrial buildings and schools, to stores and convention centers.
This is occurring because concrete is a very cost-effective flooring system and it is often viewed as a “Green” alternative to many conventional floor systems. In fact, using concrete can help facilitate the process for facilities wishing to obtain LEED® certification.*
However, maintaining interior concrete flooring does require some skill and know-how. Using strong chemicals to clean, seal, polish, or re-coat the floor essentially eliminates the environmentally friendly benefits of concrete.
New Green Concrete Technologies Now Available
New technologies have been introduced, such as the new Diamabrush™ Multi-Step Concrete Floor Polishing System from Powr-Flite, which makes it easier for facility managers to keep concrete floors looking their best in a relatively simple, healthy, environmentally responsible manner.
The Diamabrush system features a flexible, spring-steel blade designed to be in constant contact with the floor. This maximizes the tool’s effectiveness as it improves worker productivity.
Additionally, the system includes a series of increasingly finer diamond “grit” blades, ranging from 100 to 2,000 grit and in two different sizes: 16 and 19 inches. The different blades polish the concrete, allowing the user to choose which blades and how many steps are needed to achieve the desired results.
“The system transforms a conventional floor machine into a concrete polishing machine without the need for heavy and expensive equipment,” says Rod Godlewski, vice president of marketing for Powr-Flite. “And, of course, there are no chemicals involved in the process.”
Godlewski adds that the system is also cost effective. Studies indicate the Diamabrush system can clean up to 15,000 square feet at a cost of about $0.25 per square foot.
