Anchor Plastics, Inc. Closes Books with a 38% Increase Over 2009

Minnesota-based injection molding company Anchor Plastics rebounds from previous year’s drop in sales.

Golden Valley, MN, January 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- At the closing of 2010, many small businesses were happy to report an increase in sales with optimism among them rising to a three-year high. Plastic injection molder Anchor Plastics, Inc. of Golden Valley, Minnesota numbers among these cheerful small businesses.

After the devastation of 2009 and hitting an all time low in sales Anchor is happy to report not only an increase in 2010, but a fairly substantial one. Over the last year, Anchor had $1.8 million in sales compared to the previous year’s sales of $1.12 million. “Our sales goal for 2010 was actually $2 million and we came fairly close,” says President Steve Rogers. “I still count us as hitting our goal, however, because we only fell short due to a few projects being postponed at the customer’s request to early 2011.”

In addition to the projects from 2010 being postponed to early 2011, Anchor has also confirmed almost $1 million in new business through the second quarter of this year. In order to expand capabilities for the developing business, a brand new 165-ton injection molding press has been ordered and installed this month and Anchor is hiring 5-6 new employees to help with the growth.

“We couldn’t have done it without the hard work and positive attitudes of our employees and cooperation of our customers and suppliers,” says Rogers. “We thank all of them and look forward to growing another 30% over the next year.”
