PR.com)-- The Viennese artist ViennaCC recorded in 2005 compositions by Johann Strauss and Richard Strauss with contrabass, guitar, harmonica, viola and piano. The goal was to combine the optimistic affirmation of the Romantic movement with rustic mood of a wine tavern, in Vienna called Heuriger. And that means "proceed from the original notes, fathom interpretative freedom, play instruments more hard and rhythmic, mix it like a pop-song", ViennaCC explains.
The compilation of songs called "Strauss Serenade" is interesting for people who like Strauss and folk-music.
In contrast to orchestral recordings where groups of instruments are recorded with one microphone, ViennaCC recorded every single instrument on one track. The recordings were mixed with modern effects commonly used in pop-music-productions like compression.
