Lancashire, United Kingdom, March 30, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Family Safety Week is organised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The initiative is only in its first year, but has proven to be a big success, with events taking place all over the country. Countless organisations and individuals have been using the opportunity to deliver essential safety advice about a huge range of issues, including gas appliance safety, carbon monoxide poisoning, road safety, slips and trips, and electrical safety.
Commenting on the initiative, 247 Home Rescue representative Kevin Burke said: "It is great to see that Family Safety Week has been such a success, and the efforts of participants will have undoubtedly prevented numerous accidental injuries and even deaths.
"We hope to see Family Safety Week repeated next year and to reach even greater levels of success, with far more activities occurring and with every family in the UK receiving vital health and safety messages from the initiative."
"But health and safety should not simply be a consideration for seven days of the year. People need to consider how they can take care of themselves and their loved ones 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
"While the number of accidental injuries and deaths in the UK may have been on the decline for many years, one accidental injury is one too many, and other awareness-raising opportunities will always be welcome.
"RoSPA should be applauded for their hard work and tenacity."
Family Safety Week ran from March 24th to March 28th.
