New Bern, NC, April 17, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that its community manager, Mystre’ Van Horn, has been named one of the top three on-site community managers in the United States by the Council of Community Association Professionals (CCAP).
This accomplishment follows Van Horn’s recognition last year as one of the top 50 on-site managers in the nation by CCAP and her win as the 2013 Manager of the Year by the Community Associations Institute’s North Carolina Chapter (CAI-NC). Having served as Fairfield Harbour’s community manager since 2011, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the community as well as overseeing the communication between staff, owners, committee members, board members and local leaders. Apart from her involvement with CAI-NC, Van Horn participates in a number of professional organizations, including the North Carolina Registered Parliamentarians (NCRP), the National Association of Registered Parliamentarians (NARP), National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM), Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialists (AMS).
For the final round of the competition to determine the national manager of the year, CCAP has opened voting to the public to help choose the top manager of the year among Van Horn and two other contestants. Ballots may be submitted on this page. Voting closes Sunday, April 27 at 6 p.m.
“Being recognized among the country’s most talented and hardworking community managers is quite humbling,” said Van Horn. “I want to thank not only CCAP but also the members of Fairfield Harbour for continually making my job an absolute pleasure. I truly enjoy managing this community, and with all of its successes that have occurred in the past two years, I look forward to what the future has in store.”
“On behalf of the board of directors, I want to reflect how truly grateful we are to Mystre’ for her strong commitment to the Fairfield Harbour community,” said Larry Knapp, president of the Fairfield Harbour board of directors. “During her time at Fairfield Harbour, she has ensured the continuation of positive community growth in addition to bringing a fresh and insightful perspective on the preservation of community living. Through her accomplishments with our community and her impressive resume, Mystre’ is the perfect candidate for the 2014 National On-Site Manager of the Year.”
“We are so proud of Mystre’ and this wonderful achievement,” said John Stone, president of CAS, Inc. “It is an honor to call Mystre’ one of our community managers. This recognition further validates her tireless work ethic and dedication to both Fairfield Harbour and CAS. We wish her the best in the contest.”
