About Scott P. Perlman

Scott Perlman is a partner in Mayer Brown LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, where he has practiced in the areas of antitrust litigation and counseling and Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance since 1989. He has worked on a broad variety of mergers involving industries such as health care, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, electronic components, software, energy, petrochemicals, automotive, metals, paper products, agriculture, food ingredients, and securities broker-dealers. His experience with joint ventures extends to industries such as health care, energy, agriculture, transportation, and entertainment, and he has counseled business-to-business exchanges in the health care, chemicals, metals, and retail industries. He also has worked extensively on a number of antitrust class actions involving alleged price fixing, and in cases involving exclusive dealing, bundling claims and monopsony, as well as government investigations of pricing and marketing policies. Scott has primary responsibility for the entire firm for counseling clients on Hart-Scott-Rodino compliance. Scott was Chair of the Federal Bar Association Antitrust & Trade Regulation Section from 1997 to 2003, Chair of the Pricing Conduct Committee of the ABA Antitrust Section from 2008 to 2011, has been a Vice Chair of the Section’s Membership & Diversity Committee since 2012, and has authored or co-authored more than 30 articles on antitrust issues. He received his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1986.
