Bay Area IT Company Soars in Face of Adversity and Gets Featured by Microsoft in Case Study

San Jose, CA, August 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Silicon Valley-based IT company, InfinIT Consulting, announced today that it is featured on www.microsoft.com after a 336% increase in sales.

The Microsoft Partner Solution Case Study details InfinIT Consulting’s journey from a consulting agency living project-to-project to a thriving Managed Service Provider and Microsoft partner where revenues, profitability and recurring income are all up.

InfinIT’s success wasn’t written on the wall. Started by CEO Jerod Powell in 2006 without formal funding, InfinIT managed to weather the economic meltdown of 2008/2009 by building its own cloud environment while cloud computing was still in its infancy, then altering course when one of the computing world’s biggest companies threatened everything.

The competitor was Microsoft. After initially founding the company as a consulting agency, then focusing on deploying and hosting Microsoft Exchange Servers, InfinIT changed course again when Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) was first introduced in 2008. BPOS was in direct competition with Powell’s Exchange Servers, and rather than compete head-to-head with Microsoft, InfinIT became one of Microsoft’s strongest Cloud Partners—InfinIT was named Microsoft’s Northwest Partner of the Year 2013—and developed its own line of services and complementary products.

Powell says, “Emphasizing managed services and cloud services is smart business. It makes us an increasingly stable company.”

Powell is a humble CEO who started in the trade as a help-desk technician. He climbed through the ranks, studying IT independently and passionately, taking local classes along the way. Today, Powell likes to return the favor often seeking out college students with a similar zeal for IT. Working at InfinIT provides real world IT experience and outfits them with the know-how and resumé to fulfill their own long-term IT goals.

InfinIT was selected by Microsoft for the Case Study because it embodies the Microsoft Cloud OS ethos: “…helping businesses benefit from converging technology trends such as big data, cloud services and ‘bring your own device’ initiatives.” InfinIT’s success demonstrates the win-win with cloud services, benefiting both the IT partner and the business it serves.

“What we love about the Microsoft approach is the power of choice it gives us. We can give our customers a foundation for the future and a cloud strategy on their own terms. There is no other solution in the market that can so seamlessly offer this flexibility and integration,” says Powell.

InfinIT continues to innovate and forecasts a 500% percent increase in sales this year. Powell says the company is expanding into other territories and a new Enterprise Private Cloud Service will be announced in the coming months. Without doubt, the cloud will continue to evolve and InfinIT will transform right along with it.
