Skincare from Nursery to Nursing Home: Advanced Therapeutic Solutions Finds Charme Electrolyzed Water Skincare Systems Displaying Strong Presence in Medical Arenas

There aren’t many products that you would trust to be gentle enough to spray on a baby’s bottom and also strong enough to kill bacteria on a doctor’s office lab table. The Charme Electrolyzed Water System is this product: gentle, safe and holistic, using the purity of water to disinfect, cleanse and hydrate. The medical community is catching on. Miami, FL, February 08, 2006 --(PR.com)-- There aren’t many products that you would trust to be gentle enough to spray on a baby’s bottom and also strong enough to kill bacteria on a doctor’s office lab table. The Charme Electrolyzed Water System is this product: gentle, safe and holistic, using the purity of water to disinfect, cleanse and hydrate. The medical community is catching on. Advanced Therapeutic Solutions, a medical distributor based in West Palm Beach, Florida, is seeing a strong interest in the systems. Vice President LaShondra Rhodes says, “Charme has a wide range of applications. Commonly, we’re seeing it being used as an irrigation system for cleansing wounds. Currently in medical settings, doctors use a variety of ointments and antiseptic washes. Charme is a good anti-microbial and is also affordable and simple, with a good shelf life. It is cost effective and can be sent home with patients easily for them to continue their care on their own.”

What appealed to Rhodes initially about the product was that is was different. “It wasn’t a topical, it was medically originated and Mikuni had a history with chronic skincare conditions and with burn patients,” she notes. The Charme system is a portable, hand-held unit that uses electrolysis to produce low pH acidic water and deliver it in a fine spray mist. The chemical process of electrolysis breaks down the molecular structure of water or other electrolytes by separating negative ions and creating minute particles that can penetrate the skin’s barrier. The low pH acidic water created provides hydration and disinfection to the deepest levels of the skin. It was first used on over 22,000 patients at the Akashi Clinic, a renowned medical facility in Japan, as part of a holistic regimen for patients with severe eczema. The study showed a significant improvement rate with no side effects. The therapy results were so successful that the Akashi Clinic has continued this treatment method utilizing low pH water.

Low pH water has been used in the treatment of skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, dry skin, sunburn, athlete’s foot and diaper rash. It also acts as an astringent by tightening the skin and improving its barrier function. Clinical studies also show that it is an effective alternative treatment for acne vulgaris. Low pH acidic water is perfect for cleansing, while the active ingredient can kill bacteria on contact. It has been used worldwide for disinfection purposes in many industries including medical, dental, agricultural – and now skincare. The Charme system is safe and gentle enough to use on babies for diaper rash, yet strong enough to disinfect countertops and medical implements. “It can be incorporated easily into many uses,” says Rhodes. “It’s perfect for use in nursing homes on aging skin and for promoting skin health and quality. It’s effective on fragile skin, for diabetic care, for chronic ulcers, rashes and bed sores.” Rhodes sees no downside for the product’s use, and feels that its presence in the medical arena will positively affect the average consumer’s use of the product. In medical spas, dermatology offices and cosmetic surgery clinics, Charme is used for augmenting cosmetic results and post-operative care including wound care, scar prevention and to minimize infection.

Charme’s sister product, Revenir, an electrolyzed system that produces an antioxidant Vitamin C solution, has been making an impact in the beauty and spa communities. It is clinically proven to reduce hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and can reverse cell damage due to sun exposure, as it delivers free-radical scavenging antioxidants to the deepest layers of the skin. Rhodes sees great potential for Revenir Skincare Systems in the medical field as well. “We see strong positioning with Revenir for rejuvenation and esthetic procedures. Anytime you can get a dermal delivery, it’s light years ahead of topicals. Vitamin C has a good record as an antioxidant. These products are much more preventative, protective and corrective.” Rhodes sees potential in the future for additional dermal delivery of vitamins and skin enhancing elements such as copper peptide, fatty acids and omega-3 complexes. “You see a lot of trends; some will not be proven to be lasting, some will,” she says. “Both the Charme and the Revenir Skincare Systems have exceptional science-based research behind them and promise to become a strong and enduring presence in the medical market.”

Adding electrolyzed water systems to your facility allows you to offer your clients or patients a totally new realm of anti-microbial and hydrating service treatments and retail products.
