Phoenix Industrial Announces the Retirement of Co-Founder, Ken Johnson and New Business Development Team

Vancouver, WA, October 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Phoenix Industrial announces the retirement of Ken Johnson, its co-founder. Ken Johnson is retiring as Vice-President effective October 1, 2016. Johnson co-founded the company in 2001 alongside Joe Hutton, President, and Jon Scott, Vice President, creating a successful industrial contractor based out of the Pacific Northwest.

Johnson has been instrumental in growing the company through personal relationships, alliances, key account development and expansion throughout the Western United States. He has led the development of a number of Phoenix’s market segments that propelled the long-term growth that continues to this day.

“Working with Ken Johnson for the last 15 years has been a privilege,” said Joe Hutton, President, “Ken has always had an unwavering commitment to the development and success of Phoenix Industrial. His efforts were instrumental in our formation and growth and he is responsible for fostering many of the important customer relationships we enjoy today.”

Upon his departure, Johnson left with these words of advice: “The key thing is to remember the message we started – Be the good guys. If you are the good guys, the owner trusts you and knows they will pick you at the end of the day. I so strongly believe in that message.”

Hutton and Scott are also pleased to announce the appointment of David Buckley and Jim Fedon as the new business development team and Shalyn Coburn as the new marketing coordinator.

Buckley brings with him over 25 years of construction experience ranging from business development, sales, estimating, project management, and ownership. His expertise includes driving targeted business development activities, presentations, developing and managing business networks, contract negotiation, as well as scope development, planning, and leading projects. Buckley comes to Phoenix from his own business that focused on concrete and civil construction at industrial power plants throughout the Western US.

Jim Fedon is an experienced business development professional with over 25 years in the industry. He previously has worked at two well-respected construction firms as business development director and also preformed estimating and project management. He excels at developing new clients relationships, maintaining and managing existing clients, negotiating contracts, and securing business. A former A-4 Figher pilot for the United States Marine Corps, he is highly skilled in customer relations and negotiating complex contracts and agreements.

Shalyn Coburn has been hired as the marketing coordinator to develop the company brand, proposal development, and manage day-to-day marketing tasks. She brings a strong writing background, social media expertise and experience in the A/E/C industry. Shalyn will also work on tradeshow marketing, advertising, CRM implementation, and prequalifications.
