The Saudi British Bank Receives ISO 22301:2012 Certification from Intertek

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, August 12, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce that it has awarded The Saudi British Bank (SABB), a Saudi Joint Stock Company and an associate of the HSBC Group, the global ISO 22301:2012 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems. The award was presented to the bank following its successful fulfilment of the requirements for this internationally-recognised standard on Business Continuity Management Systems, which was developed by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO). By acquiring ISO 22301:2012 certification SABB have demonstrated their commitment to safeguard sustainable banking services in the face of significant disruptions in current market conditions.

The certificate, which is accredited by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), was presented to Jandal AlJandal, Head of Business Continuity and Crisis Management at SABB by Samir Ahmed, General Manager of Business Assurance Intertek Saudi Arabia, during a ceremony held at SABB’s Head Office in Riyadh. Also in attendance during the ceremony were Mr. Richard Hinchley, Chief Risk Officer and Mr. Basil S. Al Ghanim, Head of Security and Fraud Risk Management, along with other senior members of the management team.

Samir Ahmed, General Manager of Business Assurance Intertek, offered his congratulations to the senior management team and all employees stating, “This achievement marks a significant milestone for SABB. To comply with this certification, an organisation must demonstrate a structured commitment towards assessing external threats and vulnerabilities and prioritising those risks while implementing preventive measures. SABB has demonstrated it is prepared for external threats that can cause business interruption.”

ISO 22301:2012 signals that organisations are prepared to continue in the face of the significant disruptions from outside threats. Achieving this standard reduces the likelihood of breaches, interruption in the supply chain, loss of personnel, or damage to company inventory or property.
