Board Chairman, Past CEO

Biography

William Dennis

**Bill Dennis, Board Chairman**
Previously, he served as the CEO of Clinical and Herbal Innovations, leading companies at the forefront of alternative medicine, health, and wellness. Bill is also the president of Practice Success, which focuses on bridging gaps in the fragmented American healthcare disciplines. Over time, interdisciplinary dinner groups began to emerge in and around the greater NYC and Washington, D.C. areas.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, he embraced all the sports, culture, and entrepreneurial opportunities the city offered. He earned a degree in psychology and humanities from Carnegie Mellon University, followed by roles as a biofeedback therapist, meditation teacher, and services coordinator at The Combined Therapy Program of The Himalayan Institute in Chicago. He later returned to acquire a Master's in Counseling Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.

Through extensive training as a psychotherapist and stress management consultant, he coached executives and professionals in Manhattan. In 1978, he co-founded The Center for Holistic Medicine with Rudolph Ballentine, MD, where patients and students learned about stress management, the benefits of a plant-based diet, and meditation. After starting a family, he began modernizing dental and medical offices by using practice management software and extended his work to coach physicians on enhancing their business models through integrative successes, including 'client-centered communication.'

He guides teams by conducting workshops on stress management and practice building, facilitating group sessions as well. Passionate about supporting clinicians, he leads the retreat program and workshops at Villa Serena, the retreat center he oversees. He takes pride in leading his team to foster success for health and wellness providers.

Currently, Practice Success aims to introduce innovative clinicians to integrative and collaborative coaching and consulting. He recognized the necessity to 'reinvent' the health industry by forming networks for like-minded, diverse individuals—beginning in greater D.C. and NYC with a dozen interdisciplinary collaborative dinner groups that have since moved to Zoom. The programs cover Clinical Communications and Leadership, exploring both classic and modern techniques.

As these groups began to collaborate, they significantly broadened members' perspectives. This initiative has blossomed into a robust program known as Metro Collaborative, attracting health professionals eager for new growth strategies and connections with innovators. Participants include psychiatrists, dentists, medical specialists, and alternative practitioners working together.

Witnessing the remarkable advancements made by members in these forums, it was clear that these clinical and business groups were pioneering in their approaches to problem-solving, professional solidarity, and community building. These groups effectively offer business owners, physicians, dentists, and practitioners across disciplines the opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate, creating chances for cross-referrals.

Over recent decades, his contributions to the healthcare community have evolved without losing his leadership, technological acumen, and team-building capabilities. As Vice President of the Seltzer Institute and president of Coaching Solutions, he founded a collaborative practice management firm in 2000 that tackled transformation through a comprehensive team-oriented approach to complex business challenges.

In the 1980s, he shared his expertise in dental technology through lectures at the Academy of General Dentistry, Tufts University, NYU Dental Schools, and numerous study clubs across greater New York, greater D.C., and Philadelphia. He honed his skills in leadership, collaboration, and connection by participating in The Shalom Mountain Retreats, serving as President of The Stewardship Council for The Center for Conscious Living, and leading the Leadership Systems at Landmark Education.

Bill and his wife enjoy leading retreats, wellness programs, and workshops at their center, villaserena.com. They divide their time between Maryland and the Dominican Republic, where they indulge in yoga, swimming, tennis, and cherish moments with their four sons.
