Sonitrol Pacific and Cigarette Smoke Signals Led Officers to Arrest One

A call from Sonitrol Pacific and a trail of cigarette smoke led police officers to a suspected burglar's hiding place inside a boat at Bayside Outboards in Everett September 21.

Everett, WA, September 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A call from Sonitrol Pacific sent police to Everett’s Bayside Outboards and a trail of cigarette smoke signaled them to the hiding place of one suspect September 21.

An experienced Sonitrol Pacific operator received an impact-activated audio signal from the business and heard a loud band followed by clattering sounds. She immediately called police.

Sonitrol Pacific operators previously sent police officers to Bayside Outboards seven times since August 26, but each time the suspect was gone when officers arrived. However, this time police officers and the owner of Bayside Outboards were walking the property when they caught a whiff of cigarette smoke coming from the owner’s personal boat.

According to Bayside Outboard’s office manager, an intruder made a home for himself in the boat. It is believed the suspected vagrant and thief committed the string of break-ins.
