Recently, the PCAOB issued AS No. 5, which supersedes AS No. 2. This regulation will provide guidance to companies establishing internal control audits that are integrated with audits of financial statements. Companies should be very familiar with this process in order to stay in compliance.

The Knowledge Congress is assembling a panel of distinguished professionals and key regulators to help the public understand the impact of the new guidelines on the companies that are most affected by them. The panel will present their findings, which include “Best Practices” in a two-hour Live webinar.

About Felicia C. Battista

Felicia C. Battista is a senior managing director in the FTI Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice and is based in Washington, D.C. Ms. Battista has more than 25 years of accounting experience. She began her accounting career in public accounting and held accounting and legal positions in the private sector and with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Battista provides expert consulting services to clients in matters of accounting, financial reporting, corporate governance, and SEC disclosure requirements and procedures. She also provides corporate investigation and litigation consulting services to law firms, public companies, board of directors, and audit committees.

Ms. Battista has advised counsel and companies on a variety of complex accounting and SEC reporting matters. In addition, she has assisted companies in connection with restatements of previously issued financial statements, follow-on offerings, private offerings, and pre-reviews of IPO registration statements prior to filing with the SEC. Ms. Battista has also conducted special investigation regarding whistleblower allegations and other financial reporting matters.

Ms. Battista spent 10 years at the SEC Division of Corporation Finance. During such time, she reviewed and analyzed documents for accounting and legal compliance for companies in various industries, including financial institutions, retail, mining, oil and gas, pharmaceutical and biotechnology. While at the SEC. Ms. Battista served on the Division of Corporation Finance’s 1988 MD&A Project (Phase I), Financial Institution Task Force from 1991 to 1993, and its Shareholder Proposal Committee in 1993.

Ms. Battista holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the George Washington University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is also licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
