Attempt to Destroy Sonitrol Pacific Sensor Leads to Arrest

Seattle, WA, October 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- A suspected burglar attempted to circumvent Azteca’s Sonitrol Pacific security system, but the audio sensors “heard” him, police were dispatched and he was arrested October 16.

Sonitrol Pacific Operator Kris Etheridge received signal activations from Azteca and immediately called police due to recent criminal activity at the restaurant. While officers were en route, Etheridge listened to real-time audio and heard movement inside the building.

Police arrived and arrested one suspected intruder.

An investigation of the event found the suspect tried to rip an audio sensor off the wall in a futile attempt to evade detection. However, the sensor captured the noises he made while doing this and the fast response by Etheridge and Seattle Police ensured his ultimate capture.

Since 1978, Sonitrol Pacific has assisted law enforcement in the apprehension of 4,977 suspects and 138 so far in 2008. The unique audio detection technology and commitment to early and verified detection account for this record.
