Astudo Growing Hotel Management Business

Astudo Hotel and Resorts Management Company, originally founded to manage their own X2 and Away resorts in Kui Buri, Samui and Koh Kood, has seen substantial growth in the hotel and resorts management business.

Bangkok, Thailand, October 29, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Astudo Hotel and Resorts Management Company has seen substantial growth in the hotel and resorts management business. The company was originally founded to manage their own X2 and Away resorts in Kui Buri, Samui and Koh Kood, but the success of those resorts has resulted in the company being contacted by many company Thai and international hotel owners for looking for professional assistance and consulting.

Accordingly to Anthony McDonald, Astudo CEO, “there is a big need for high quality, international standard hotel management in the market. Most large chains focus on large luxury properties, but we have found a nice niche in the 50-150 room market, below that where the major chains tend to operate”.
He added that “The main attraction owners saw in Astudo was that we have our own brands, which can make marketing and sales highly effective for even a small property”. Astudo leverage their X2 and Away brands with boutique properties, enabling them to achieve much highly occupancy levels and room rates, than if they were a single brand property.

Current Astudo manages two X2 properties (Kui Buri and Samui), three Away Properties (Koh Kood, Chumphon and Chiang Mai), and two Le Bayburi properties (Pranburi and Samui). The company has recently introduced its budget and business hotel brand “The Base” and is currently looking for owners with city and resort locations who are interested to develop 3-4 star hotels. The company also has several pre-opening consulting contracts with hotels and resorts owners, which should provide the company another 3-4 properties in 2009.

Anthony McDonald concluded that “One of the company’s main priorities for 4th quarter this year is to find a partner or hotel owner interested to establish X2 design hotel in Bangkok. We feel very strongly that our 5 Star X2 design hotel brand will be very successful in Bangkok, and are currently trying to identify land owners or investors who would like to collaborate on the project”.

Astudo currently has 25 staffs based in Bangkok head office that supports all resorts under its management. This is likely to expand significantly over the next year as enquiries from neighboring countries could result in the establishment of a regional head office to be established.
