Attempted Drug Theft Thwarted by Sonitrol Pacific

Everett, WA, November 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Police arrested two men suspected of breaking into Everett Ear, Nose and Throat in an attempt to take pharmaceutical drugs after the clinic’s Sonitrol Pacific security system “heard” them November 3.

Expert Sonitrol Pacific Operator Stephany Ripley received the system activation from the clinic and heard slight tapping noises followed by voices. She immediately dispatched police. Ripley continued to monitor the audio sensors at the medical office while officers were en route and heard the suspects discussing their search for the drug cabinet and excitement when they found it. She then received a signal from the sensor on the drug cabinet.

Police officers arrived at the clinic shortly after getting the call from Ripley and immediately located one of the suspects. A police dog tracked down the second suspect hiding on the fire escape a few minutes later. Both were taken into custody.

Police believe the two men crawled into the clinic through an open window near the fire escape.
