MortgageWing partners with Independent Prepaid Legal Reps to curb identity fraud

Rancho Cucamonga, CA, April 26, 2005 --(PR.com)-- MortgageWing.com sets the stage on Saturday, May 21, 2005 for a day of home loan education. The event at the Pomona Fairplex, “Your Dream Mortgage” 2005 will feature educational seminars that explain the steps to guard against identity theft, the ways to find out about if someone is using your personal information, and the legal actions to take if it happens to you.

Independent Prepaid Legal representative, Rosetta Williams, is offering a menu of services to provide legal protection for people attending this event. Borrowers will be able to get a full year of legal protection against identity fraud when they refinance their homes. Williams, who has been a Prepaid Legal representative for two years now, states that, “Identity theft is more common than people know and once the thieves have your information, it is a very grueling process to reclaim your identity because they pass it around.”

“One of the main things that may hinder a borrower from getting a loan is derogatory marks on their credit report,” says April Minot, President of MortgageWing.com. “Many people are unaware that their credit has been tampered with until they try to purchase a home.”

The government has no safeguards in place to protect your identity because people are required to give out their personal information to obtain credit. Your information can be stolen at any time; from the first time you ever apply for anything. A common way to get your information is right out of your mailbox. Or better yet, your mail is diverted to different address. In addition, thieves can get your information from applications, checks and check stubs, and any agency or company where you have an account. The person taking your application may, in fact, be keeping a copy for other purposes.

It is up to you to protect yourself from identity fraud. MortgageWing.com is providing solutions at “Your Dream Mortgage” 2005. This event is open to the public. To find out more about the event, logon to www.mortgagewing.com.
