Inter-Tel Announces Commercial Availability of Inter-Tel 5000 Network Communications Solutions
Tempe, AZ, April 26, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Inter-Tel, Incorporated, (Nasdaq: INTL) a leading provider of voice and converged business communications systems, has announced that the Inter-Tel 5000 Network Communications Solutions are now available through the company’s 59 direct offices and 350 authorized resellers throughout North America. The Inter-Tel 5000 family of products is an IP-centric business communications solution targeted for small and mid-size businesses looking to leverage the benefits of IP telephony.

“The Inter-Tel 5000 Network Communications Solutions are designed to effectively address what has been an underserved market, small and medium-size businesses, looking to efficiently leverage the power of IP telephony to improve their business processes,” said Craig W. Rauchle, president and chief operating officer for Inter-Tel. “Customers will find the Inter-Tel 5000 solutions are intended to deliver powerful IP-powered applications like presence, collaboration and messaging tools in a scalable and cost-effective manner.”

The initial release of the Inter-Tel 5000 Network Communications Solutions includes two communications platforms: the Inter-Tel CS-5200, which can support up to 25 IP endpoints and the Inter-Tel CS-5400, which supports up to 110 IP endpoints.

The Inter-Tel CS-5200 and Inter-Tel CS-5400 have been designed to operate as feature-rich IP-centric solutions for both single-site and multi-site businesses. Each of the communication platforms is equipped and licensed for networking out of the box, and includes built-in four-port voice mail with auto attendant, as well as three modular bays for optional trunk interfaces. When used in multi-site environments, these communications platforms operate as survivable nodes to provide rich feature capability in the event of a wide area network failure.

While this new Inter-Tel platform is designed for IP architecture, it leverages the rich feature set of the Inter-Tel Axxess® platform. Additionally, in future releases, Inter-Tel 5000 communications platforms are designed to interoperate with both existing and new Axxess systems within the same network, and are being designed to support the company’s existing multiprotocol SIP IP endpoints, as well as its advanced applications such as Inter-Tel Unified Communicator® software, Enterprise® Conferencing and Call Center Suite.

“The Inter-Tel 5000 Network Communications Solutions do a lot more than just provide IP transport - they are designed to deliver Inter-Tel’s robust IP-enabled applications that can help customers address fundamental business challenges, like increasing revenue or controlling costs”, noted Jeffrey T. Ford, Inter-Tel’s chief technology officer. “These powerful tools can positively impact an organization in tangible, quantifiable, and practical ways, and above all, provide a compelling rationale for deploying IP telephony.”
