System Detects Four Outside Secured School, One Arrested

Sonitrol Pacific's unique audio security sensors detected threatening activity outside a school in Washington January 31.

Marysville, WA, February 07, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Police detained several juveniles and arrested one at a Washington middle school after Sonitrol Pacific’s security system detected the kids outside the school January 31.

Operator Connie Becerra received impact-activated audio signals from the cafeteria and gym areas of the school. She listened to sounds being made through the audio detection sensors in real-time and heard yelling. Becerra immediately called police.

Police arrived at the school to find four students playing in the covered area in the school’s yard. Although officers suspected the kids were etching the school’s windows, they couldn’t prove it. Police discovered a warrant was out for the arrest of one of the juveniles and they took him into custody.
