Russell Bazaar Hosts 1st Annual Black Business Festival

Detroit, MI, February 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The 1st Annual Black Business Festival will be hosted by the Russell Bazaar on February 21st and 22nd, 2009. This huge event is in honor of Black History Month and is setup to help the city of Detroit put their best foot forward toward the future. Designed for all ages, this event will showcase the opportunities citizens of Detroit can find when they utilize their talents for entrepreneurial initiatives. It is a perfect opportunity for networking with other business owners and our cities leaders and talented workforce.

200 Business Entrepreneurs
The Russell Bazaar will be providing 100 free booths to African American business owners to advertise, promote and network. Music, art, clothing, hair salons, car dealerships, restaurants and bars will combine during this Black Business Festival to create the largest event to date inside the Russell Bazaar. This event is designed to offer all business owners in the city an opportunity to grow their businesses and networks for free with other business owners as well as the people of the City of Detroit.

Seminars and Forums
The top Mayoral candidates for the City of Detroit have been invited to educate and answer questions from the public. Dr. Ken Harris, the President and CEO of Detroit Black Expo will be hosting a workshop for black business owners on promoting their ideas and services. The Black Chamber of Commerce and NAACP will also be appearing at this event to educate African Americans about their services and how they contribute to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality for all people.

Contests and Entertainment
The festival will also include live Jazz, comedy shows and many different talent competitions. Contests for all ages have cash prizes for people to show off their talents in comedy, karaoke and cooking challenges. The cooking contests cover a wide range of delectable delights such as chili, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie and ribs.

All media and City of Detroit Fire and Police Departments will receive a free VIP buffet. The event is sponsored by The Black Expo, CBS Network and WGPR.

About The 1st Annual Black Business Festival and the Russell Bazaar:
This event is organized by the Russell Bazaar and is scheduled to be put on yearly during Black History Month. The Russell Bazaar is located inside the Historic Russell Industrial Center: a seven inter connected complex designed by Albert Kahn and finished in 1925 on a 25 acre site near I-75 and I-94.
