Orlando, FL, February 26, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Channel Intelligence, Inc. (CI), the leader in Internet marketing commerce solutions for manufacturers, retailers and publishers, has released a case study detailing how home appliance manufacturer Haier America went from an antiquated online referral process to one that strengthens its relationships with retailers and enjoys double the typical conversion rate of other referral programs.
Consumers often look for a way to buy products as they research their purchases on manufacturer web sites. However, many manufacturers place the burden on the consumer to find out where to buy their branded products by only providing a static list of retailers. It’s then up to the consumer to try to find out if those retailers carry the specific product they want to buy and which location or web site has the product in stock. By participating in the where-to-buy program offered by CI via the CI Ad Network, Haier America was able to take advantage of a significant sales boost at the height of its sales cycle and pass along highly qualified leads to its retail partners.
“We needed to refine our referral process so that we could achieve higher conversions with our retail partners,” comments Robert Kennedy, Business Development Manager for Haier America. “The summer is normally a very heavy time for us. The added bonus of the heat wave during the summer of 2008 boosted our air conditioning sales even higher than expected, and having CI’s where-to-buy program in place contributed to our successful July sales.”
Shawn Seipler, Vice President of Sales for the CI Ad Network, explains: “Haier’s website is an excellent resource for consumers researching products. It’s easy to navigate and provides many useful tools. But consumers faced a lot of obstacles when they were ready to buy. By paving a clear path to purchase a product in only two clicks, the Ad Network removes these obstacles. The result is enhanced channel referrals and happier shoppers.”
Haier also reports that its retail partners have provided very positive feedback about the program. On average, Haier’s retailers enjoy a five percent conversion rate - more than two times the industry average for online referral programs, due largely to the highly qualified nature of a consumer who clicks “Buy Now” on a manufacturer’s site.
