Sydney, Australia, February 26, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- There is an array of bollards or fixed wall ashtrays designed for the disposal of used cigarettes. According to Leda, the existing designs are often aesthetically lacking or operationally deficient.
Mr Steve Holder, Leda’s Design Manager states, “Existing property managers pointed out that their staff have to handle the ashtrays and this was extremely dirty. Our new design minimises the chance of cleaners coming into contact with ash or cigarette butts as the receptical is stored upright within the bollard behind a locked handle. Once you unlock the door, you can take the larger bin away neatly and only the outside of the bollard will need any cleaning.”
Leda’s designers seem to have also considered the ingress of water into the bollard in driving rain which according to Leda, also creates problems with water then ending up with the used cigarettes and eventually in the cleaners garage bags. The slanted top while providing cover also fits into Leda’s existing Stainless Steel range of bollards.
