Ingenious Design for the Body In Mind

Mo Walton of Pennsylvania, creates an ingenious design for an excercise machine which needs no wieghts, just power.

Havertown, PA, May 18, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Mo Walton of Havertown, Pennsylvania has put together an ingenious process to create the possible future technology of fitness machines. Using a simple pulley system, which replaces normal weights, or resistance rods, with one slim rod of iron and an electromagnet. The electromagnet controls the resistance of the iron rod attached to the pulley system creating the desired resistance for the performed exercise. “The process has been tested and a small prototype was made. I am now in the process of creating a ready-to use model.” says Mo Walton.

It was a dream he said and it almost seemed impossible for something so simple to become reality. So far it seems that this initial spark of innovation can only be the first of many. Everything is impossible until someone tries to make it possible. No one even dreamed of cars when a horse was the main source of transportation. Even if someone did it would have still been condemned and labeled as impossible maybe even witchcraft. Electromagnetism has a vast range of capabilities. It can be used in many different applications and is one resource that powers the earth. It is also a resource that runs through us, and could possibly become a resource to take us far, further into the future of technology.

The human body for instance runs on electricity. The brain sends signals of energy to the nervous system, which sends pulses of energy to control your various muscles and parts of your body. So a person with a damaged nervous system could one day, in the world of tomorrow, be able to take back control of their areas of impairment through the science of electricity, and magnetism. The statement made above, may seem like a dream and sounds foolish. Even right now, it makes no sense at all. But the spark of innovation comes from a foolish suggestion, a dream and determination to succeed. You have to make the dream reality.

In the midst of a foolish dream came the idea to create an exercise machine from an iron rod and an electromagnet. Using the electromagnet to control the strength of attraction to the iron rod is similar to changing the amount of weights on a barbell. This process is simple; by controlling the voltage going into the magnet you control the attraction. This is a grade school knowledge that everybody knows of and overlooks. The tricky part is in the design of the model.
