SocialUp: Getting Social, Going Local

Greensboro, NC, April 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- SocialUp a start-up company in Greensboro, NC has launched a new social networking site as a means of driving community conversation and connecting area residents around issues and interests that matter most to them.

www.mysocialup.com was launched in late March. The site was built to see how Greensboro and the Triad would respond to the opportunity to connect on a local social-networking platform.

Built on a open source platform, the site offers residents the opportunity to create their own profiles, join interest groups and post blogs, photos, and videos for others to see. Interest groups around such topics as "going green", history, and the arts are all types of groups expected.

"Although SocialUp is similar to established social-networking sites like Facebook or Myspace, people who live here and join are likely to see familiar faces and discussions about issues relevant to Greensboro and the Triad area," said Jason Tipton founder of SocialUp.
