Strategic Alliance Offers a Simple Solution to Office Ergonomic Risk

Grand Rapids, MI, July 21, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Recent research conducted by Atlas Ergonomics indicates that the most influential factor in reducing employee discomfort and the risk of injury, is their knowledge on how to use the ergonomic products provided to them.

While 46% of surveyed employees feel they have good or complete knowledge of work station features, roughly the same amount did not know if their chair had adjustable seat depth or lumbar support.  For an employer to fully realize a return on investment in ergonomic products, knowledge is king.

The ability to offer an employer both superior ergonomic products and knowledge services is the goal of a strategic alliance announced by Ergonomic Concepts (Clayton, NC) and Atlas Ergonomics (Grand Haven, MI).  The alliance will take many forms, all in an effort to make reducing ergonomic risk and their associated costs easier.

Ergonomic Concepts will offer a complete line of "Atlas Approved" products.  The product will be tested and certified by Atlas as meeting the organization's stringent standards, and will be shipped from the factory with Atlas' universal marking system already installed.  Atlas' system quantifies product adjustment locations making the fitting process of an employee simpler and more sustainable.  The product line will also include keyboard mechanisms and LCD monitor lifts, a first for industry.

Ergonomic Concepts will align its sales force with Atlas' nationwide network of ergonomic service providers to offer clients a variety of services.  Clients can address the risk of a single employee or an entire call center with thousands. Ergonomic Concepts will offer Atlas' on-site support, Atlas' technology and training and support for in-house resources, and required product solutions.

Finally, Ergonomic Concepts will sponsor a series of CEU ergonomic seminars designed to help educate employers on a variety of ergonomic topics, helping to increase the knowledge of the appropriate decision makers.  The dates and locations of the seminars will be announced in the future.

"The industry has struggled for years to effectively educate users of office ergonomic products," said Brian Frazier, president of Ergonomic Concepts. "Atlas provides a unique approach that offers our clients a menu of options, all of which are simple and effective to use.  When you combine their approach and their research with the breadth of their network, our interest to partner with the group is clear.  By doing so we offer the market a complete solution."

"We are pleased to be selected as Ergonomic Concepts' ergonomic service partner," said Sherm Robbins, vice president of Atlas Ergonomics.  "From our inception, we have recognized the value of combining ergonomic products and our services.  Ergonomic Concepts revolutionizes the concept by designing our technology into an expanded line of excellent products.  Their innovation and leadership makes addressing injury risk simple and cost effective."
