Embassy Suites Hotels: Kids Eye View

Embassy Suites Hotels is offering a "Kids Eye View" program this summer. “I’M BOOOOOORRRRRRED!!!!!” Embassy Suites Hotels® Helps Parents Fight Weekend Doldrums with a Kids-Eye View™ to Fun.

Tempe, AZ, May 27, 2005 --(PR.com)-- Anyone who has lived in the Phoenix area for their entire life, or even a few years may think they know all the hot spots or hidden secrets in town. But, locals, especially parents, may be surprised at just what their kids consider cool today. In a first-ever survey of its kind by a hotel brand, Embassy Suites Hotels, has seen Phoenix from a Kids-Eye View, uncovering a variety of kid-tested and -approved activities perfect for a weekend or longer of family fun right in the Greater Phoenix area’s backyard.

“We can’t wait to share this ‘inside’ information with parents because, as we all know, adults may think something is cool, but their kids are not feeling the same ‘hip’ vibe,” said Jeff Preston, General Manager of Embassy Suites Phoenix-Tempe. “We were amazed at the variety of activities that the nation’s kids recommended, including some off-the-beaten-path ideas that many parents probably aren’t aware of, such as Goldfield Ghost Town, right here in the Phoenix area.”

To see the world from a Kids-Eye View, Embassy Suites Hotels polled “locals,” ages six to 16, in 20 of the country’s top vacation destinations — Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.), Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis (Tenn.), Minneapolis, Nashville (Tenn.), New York, Orange County (Calif.), Orlando (Fla.), Phoenix, Portland (Ore.), San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. — to find out what’s hip, hot and happening in their cities. An insider’s guide to the “best of” spots and activities, Kids-Eye View is a survey for kids, by kids that helps visiting parents determine where they should take their clan when visiting the Phoenix area, and local parents find new, exciting places to take their children during the summer.

So what did the Phoenix area kids recommend to their fellow summer vacation cohorts? Some of the top-voted spots included:
•Big Surf, 1500 N. McClintock Drive, Tempe, 480-947-2477
•Arizona Science Center, 600 E. Washington Street, Phoenix, 602-716-2000
•Goldfield Ghost Town, Az Hwy 88 and Old West Hwy, Goldfield/Apache Junction, 480-983-0333
•Streets of New York Pizza, 5965 West Ray Road, Chandler, 480-893-6700
•Streamers Ice Cream Parlor and Grill, 1166 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, 480-635-9222
