Council for Entrepreneurial Development Announces Results of Online Member Survey

Research Triangle Park, NC, June 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Joan Siefert Rose, president of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) (www.cednc.org), a private, nonprofit organization that promotes entrepreneurial efforts in the Triangle region of North Carolina, has announced the results of an online member survey conducted by the organization earlier this year. The purpose of the survey was to understand what entrepreneurs think about CED and to solicit feedback about how the organization can better respond to the needs of its members. Of the individuals polled in January, 15 percent (764 people) responded, many of whom provided written comments. The more than 300 pages of verbatim responses offer some of the most insightful assessments that CED has collected in years. The organization plans to use the feedback to create new and increasingly relevant programs in the coming months. The anonymous survey was conducted and analyzed by CED member companies Percept Research and RTI International.

Among the notable findings of the survey:

· Seventy-two (72) percent of those who responded consider themselves to be an entrepreneur.
· Financing remains the main concern of responders by a wide margin, followed by sales and business development;
· More than 70 percent of respondents say they expect their business to expand “a little” or “a lot” during the next 12 months.

Results of the member survey are available at http://www.cednc.org/channel/94.

“I would like to thank everyone who took the time to share their ideas through the survey,” said Rose. “The CED staff intends to use these insights both as a benchmark of current member satisfaction, and as a guide to shape programs that best meet the needs identified in the survey.”
