Suspect Arrested Perched Atop School Roof

Sonitrol Pacific audio security detects one on the roof of a school and dispatched deputies to arrest.

Hillsboro, OR, June 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Sheriff’s deputies located and arrested one man on the roof of an Oregon school after Sonitrol Pacific audio security detected activity June 7.

Award winning Sonitrol Pacific Operator Michael Young received the security system activation from the school and heard live audio of bangs and voices. He dispatched Washington County Sheriff Deputies.

Deputies arrived at the school in approximately five minutes and found a man sitting on the school’s roof next to a broken window. The man was wanted for additional outstanding warrants and taken into custody. Officers suspect more people were at the scene when the Sonitrol Pacific system activated, but managed to evade arrest. When asked who he was talking to, the man told officers he was alone and talking to his girlfriend on his cell phone.

A representative from the school said they were thrilled the man was detected and arrested before getting inside and one broken window was the only damage done.
