Boyd Lighting's First LED Fixture - La Reina Pendants by Federico Otero

San Francisco, CA, July 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Winner of the IIDA/HD Expo 2009 Individual Lighting Fixture Award.

Winner of the Best of NeoCon 2009 Silver Award.

Boyd Lighting proudly announces the release of their first LED lighting fixture, La Reina Pendants. Boyd's proprietary LED light package provides high efficiency (42 lumens per watt), long-life (50,000 hours) and superb color temperature (3000K) while consuming only 8.75 watts of energy. Halogen lamping is also available.

“My inspiration for the semi-transparent effect came from a walk in nature. Passing by a group of trees I was struck by the unique layering of the foliage, which is the jewel of the tree. It is the glamorous crown perfectly fitting for a modern queen, hence the name La Reina,” states designer Federico Otero.

The luminaire structure is made from die-stamped stainless steel which contains 94% post-recycled content. The pendants are electro-polished on the outside which gives them a dazzling shine, while the interior is a powder coat white for added reflectance. Seeing through the cut-out pattern creates a moiré effect providing added visual interest. The La Reina comes in two sizes, Modesta (24”) and Magnifica (36”), both offering multiple hang heights. Long and sleek, La Reina pendants are terrific for stairwells, corridors and over a counter or reception desk. Cluster individual pendants onto one ceiling plate, at varying heights, to create your own custom design to perfectly fit your project. This custom cluster is an excellent solution for lighting large circular staircases and double volume spaces.
